Homeowners' Association Law:

Mr. Holmgren has nearly 25 years of experience representing homeowners' associations and individual homeowners in a variety of legal matters. He is a well-respected member of the Community Associations Institute and a top-rated litigator amongst his peers.

Construction Defect Litigation:

Mr. Holmgren has more than 20 years of combined experience in residential construction and construction litigation, as a trial lawyer. He specializes in representing homeowners and homeowners' associations in complex, multi-party construction defect disputes in state and federal courts and AAA arbitration. Mr. Holmgren has successfully settled or prosecuted to conclusion through jury trial or binding arbitration the claims of more than one thousand clients and recovered more than $10,000,000 for his clients.

About us

Mark Holmgren, Founding Partner

Mark Holmgren is a highly experienced, seasoned litigator with nearly 25 years of experience, nearly 20 of which has been spent litigating complex construction defect cases and representing homeowners' and community associations.

Mr. Holmgren’s community association experience includes litigation of everything from hate speech to embezzlement and providing advice to association directors on a wide variety of issues. Mr. Holmgren also has extensive appellate experience.

Mr. Holmgren began representing community associations in 2003 when he joined the Arizona office of a multi-state firm based in San Diego. This work included general counsel work, complex construction defect litigation, and class actions for individual homeowners. Mr. Holmgren was later recruited by a local firm, where he continued his plaintiffs’ construction defect practice.

In 2007, Mr. Holmgren joined a community association general counsel firm, where he represented homeowners associations, condominiums, and individual homeowners in myriad types of disputes, but with an emphasis on construction defect litigation. He also began his insurance defense practice, and eventually ran the insurance defense practice group for the firm. He oversaw the firm's work closing cases quickly, efficiently, and by getting outcomes that were good for both the insured and the carrier.

In 2018, Mr. Holmgren attended the Claims and Litigation Management Institute and was the only community association attorney in the State of Arizona to have earned the highly valued Certified Litigation Management Professional (CLMP) designation.

Mr. Holmgren was admitted to the practice of law in Arizona in 1999, in Oregon in 2007 (now inactive), and in New Mexico in 2013.
